An Acre of Land at The Country Brocante Summer Fair

An Acre of Land may only be one year old in its current form, but in truth its story began much earlier. Founder Julia started making clothes for herself over nine years ago, driven by a simple but powerful instinct: the desire to feel good in what she wore, and to create clothing that helped other women feel the same.

At the heart of An Acre of Land is an appreciation for female form, shape and beauty, and a wish to offer women an alternative. Julia wanted to create clothes in beautiful fabrics, with ease, longevity and wearability at their core. Pieces that feel special without feeling complicated. Pieces that can become part of a wardrobe for years, rather than a passing moment.

That philosophy still shapes the business today. An Acre of Land is built around the idea of one main collection each year, launched in spring around a central theme, encouraging customers to step into a wider story and to feel part of a community. Rather than chasing constant newness, the brand focuses on thoughtful design, continuity and connection. Collections are created to sit alongside the founding garments, allowing wardrobes to be grown and layered over time rather than replaced and discarded. Colours, shapes and fabrics are all chosen with that sense of cohesion in mind.

This year’s collection, Blueprints, is the Spring Summer 2026 collection and the brand’s year of blue. It is a collection rooted in cloth, colour, landscape and story. Blue appears here in many forms: sky, water, natural dye, ticking stripes, cyanotype shadows and handloomed cottons. It is a colour that sits beautifully alongside the founding palette of black, brown, cream and natural tones, bringing depth, contrast and light.

Blueprints was developed around four key ideas: colour, story, textiles and shape. It marks a continued evolution for the brand, both creatively and practically. An Acre of Land has recently refined its supply chain to focus on handwoven cotton and linen fabrics, helping ensure that money goes directly to weavers and communities while supporting the continuation of artisan skills. This also allows the brand to work closely with fabric design, quality and colour, keeping materials and making at the centre of the process.

The collection is also shaped by story. One of the inspirations behind Blueprints is the cyanometer, a beautiful and playful way of measuring blue in the world around us. That spirit of observation, participation and shared experience runs through the whole season, inviting people to notice the changing blues of daily life in sky, cloth and landscape.

For Julia, An Acre of Land is far more than a business. It is a creative outlet, a path, a way to connect, to keep learning, to support other makers and to build something with meaning. That sense of care and purpose is present in every collection and in the wider world the brand is creating around it.

Visitors to An Acre of Land at The Country Brocante Summer Fair will be able to experience the Blueprints collection in person and enjoy 10% off when visiting the stand during the fair.
