The Country Brocante Summer Fair

The Meadow at Rowner Farm, West Sussex RH14 9HT

The Country Brocante Summer Fair in The Meadow

We are delighted to announce that the Country Brocante is returning to the Meadows at Rowner farm this June. We are looking forward to setting up our pretty white tents amidst the beauty of the West Sussex countryside for a celebration of countryside living, effortless style and the simple joy of discovering something special.

We invite you to browse our unique collection of decorative antiques, English, French and Swedish furniture and vintage homewares, woven together by a shared love of beauty and character.

We are excited to showcase our growing number of Artisan makers, contemporary home designers and slow fashion brands who are connected by a deep respect for craftsmanship and a love of design. Our Garden Galleries will, as always, be overflowing with everything you could want for your garden and an abundance of locally grown plants and flowers.

We hope that you make wonderful memories at our events. For us, the Country Brocante Summer fair evokes the village fetes of our childhoods, a return to a slower pace and simple pleasures; strolling through the grass browsing the stalls, pausing for tea and cake, or strawberries and cream in the sunshine and soaking up the atmosphere.

The fair is an unmissable date on the country calendar. An opportunity to catch up with friends, relax in the sunshine with a glass of something refreshing, delight in finding a hidden treasure or search for a statement price for your home, all nestled within the Sussex countryside in full summer bloom.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Floral Headslides Workshop

Lucy Lee, Ramshackle Flowers

Lucy Lee is a Florist and Grower who lives in West Sussex, and is the creator of Ramshackle Flowers. She creates curious beauty using homegrown and traditionally preserved everlasting flowers with a signature style that is wild, pastoral, and occasionally quirky.

Originally from West Sussex, she went on to study philosophy, work in publishing, and then brand design. As a Florist, she brings this unique background to her work. Flowers are the root of her personal philosophy, to live a life filled with as much love, beauty and creativity as possible.

Create your own whimsical everlasting floral hairslide made from dried flowers and foliage, finished with a vintage ribbon, at the Country Brocante Summer Fair.

Meandering Thoughts around Meadow Manor

Rachel Ashwell, Shabby Chic

Rachel Ashwell founded Shabby Chic® in 1989, opening the first store in Santa Monica and shortly thereafter in New York's Soho neighborhood. The brand's rising popularity (including an appearance on Oprah and inclusion on her list of Favorite Things, 15 retail locations, and a partnership with Target) led to the launch of an e-commerce site in 2011. Rachel launched her first book, The World of Shabby Chic: Beautiful Homes, My Story + Vision, in 1996 and will launch her twelfth, Meadow Manor: My Majestic English Countryside Home, in March 2026. Rachel also hosted a TV show, Rachel Ashwell’s Shabby Chic, from 1999-2003 on E! and the Style Network.

Over the past 36 years, the brand has partnered with 1-800 Flowers, offered wallpaper and paint with Graham and Brown, window treatments with Ashley Wilde, has product available in the UK at NEXT, in the United States at Dillards, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Home Goods , and Home Sense, and continues to inspire interior designers, home enthusiasts, and travelers with the perfect balance of English heritage and California lifestyle.

My French Country Home

Sharon Santoni

For anyone who has ever fallen in love with a French flea market or dreamed of coming home with the perfect brocante find, this book is your essential companion. Published by Flammarion, The Art of Antiquing in France draws on Sharon's thirty years of hunting through the markets, fairs and dealers of Normandy and beyond. It covers everything from understanding French antique styles and periods to navigating the unwritten rules of the brocante world — the etiquette, the bargaining, the relationships with dealers. Beautifully illustrated, it's part practical guide, part love letter to a uniquely French way of life that is as much about community and culture as it is about the objects themselves.

Sharon Santoni is a British writer and lifestyle curator who has lived in France all her adult life, and in Normandy for over thirty years. After raising her four children in the French countryside, she reinvented herself at fifty — launching a blog that grew into My French Country Home, a lifestyle business celebrating the beauty of French country living. Today she runs a boutique, a magazine, a subscription box, and a travel programme, with a devoted following of over 370,000 on social media. The Art of Antiquing in France is her most recent book, in which she shares her love of buying antiques and brocante throughout France.
