February feels like a time to hibernate. All around us in Sussex the trees are bare and the hedgerows are silent although the snowdrops are just beginning to peep out ~ it's a time to hunker down by the fire and eat warming stews and soups and catch up on books. Whilst some cold, crisp snow days would have been lovely, this February has been one of the wettest ever!

After the sparkles of Christmas, it’s really quite satisfying to sweep away the old and look forward to the challenges a new year brings. In the Country Brocante Store, our sellers have been clearing out their cupboards so we are having a sale until the end of the month, come in and see if you can find a bargain or two!

December, as for most retailers, is our busiest month in The Country Brocante Store, and our beautiful old building seems to come into its own - though being so old it’s also very draughty and frequently very cold! The building is very quirky and atmospheric and positively glows in the dark December days. For The Country Brocante Team, November means only one thing for us, and that is the Winter Fair! This year our Winter Fair took place at Parham House and Gardens in West Sussex. By September, we have booked our exhibitors and made most of our plans but these really ramp up after the Harvest Fair in September.
